Thee Olde History:
You got a second? You might want to sit down for this. Boyfriends and Girlfriends started years ago. It was the same formula that the two people who made you had to follow. It could have been an accident, mutual, some one could have been a victim, or it could have been strictly business, at any rate you popped out of some woman's vagina or was ripped out of her stomach. It happened, you wouldn't be reading this if it hadn't. That's kind of how this band started. It's not sure exactly why, i think in this case, some one was a victim, but it happened.
Our first song was released as a Flowers In The Attic song, so I guess it was a Flowers In The Attic song, but Kenny originally wrote it with intentions of it being a Boyfriends and Girlfriends song. It's the 8th track on the first self released Flowers In The Attic CD which was put out when we were seniors in high school. It also features Missy, a lovely young lady from West Virgina.
Then we strategically formed the local super group called Boyfriends and Girlfriends a year or two later. Equipped with Baltimore celebrities we were ready to take on any challenge, including writing songs. The original line up consisted of: Brian Dubin-Drums (ex stars of the dogon, charm city suicides, double dagger) , Cory Allander-vocals (ex stars of the dogon) Kevin Bernsten- guitar (current Flowers In The Attic, ex cradle is casket) Kenny Harvey- guitar (current Flowers In The Attic, Addicted To Fucking, ex clancy six) and our revolving 4 sting section of: Rick Weaver-bass (current new flesh, organ donors, ex flowers in the attic) Joe Martin-bass (current The Mess ex french mistake, the american, herd of wookies). With a line up that could drink more than they could breathe, we were destined to win. Something happened though, after several classic shows we just kind of stopped playing. There was no bad blood, we all dug the songs, I don't know what happened, we just stopped playing.
After the year or two break the decision was made to reform and take music by the balls again. Last November we began writing songs again with our new line up. Brendan Mclaughlin- drums (current moonshine, ex charm city suicides), Kevin Bernsten- guitar (current Flowers In The Attic, ex cradle is casket) Kenny Harvey- guitar (current Flowers In The Attic, Addicted To Fucking, ex clancy six), Mark Posthuma- bass (current wail sounds, addicted to fucking), Tracy Conway- vocals (current cradle is casket, ex clancy six). We have taught our selves 8 songs so far. Kenny, Kevin, and Brendan live together, and Tracy lives 1.5 miles from them, and mark lives 8 miles from all 4 of them, and Kevin and Mark work at the same place, but some how, we all can't make it to practice.
There is going to be another line up change. Probably with in the week. When you got money on the mind, you can't let anyone fuck up your business, and if you're not with it, you're against it. Life isn't about having friends, and success isn't about who you are, it's who you know.
Boyfriends and Girlfriends is a band with bad intentions, so if you see our name on a flyer, tear it down and pray that our van dies. When you see the black cloud park it self over your house, lock your doors and hide your daughters. Just know it's us with our pants at our ankles and white mustaches oozing from our upper lips, wheezing in the direction the closest female.
