Pissed off concerning faceless plastic products? With their latest record BONEHOUSE provide you with the ultimate ass kick a falty produced attack, full of enthusiasms, power and aggression

In 1996 the first BONEHOUSE record symmetry of decadence came out (first published by the band themselves, re-released at Earth A.D. Records in the same year). Now, five years later, it is followed by the fourth record Onward to Mayhem.

Anyone who has observed the development of BONEHOUSE knows that the band constantly has been refining its style, a furious mixture of hardcore, punk-rock and thrash metal. This already could be noticed with Dogbite(97) and Steamroller(99), each of which marked a clear progresss forwards and showed BONEHOUSE creating their own trademark. The new CD presents Philipp Wolters harsh, carismatic voice (often alternating with the roaring punkish vocals of drummer Kalle Stietzel), the relentless thunder of the drums, the crisp riffs and melodious leads of Pete Stoeckicht and Jan Späth on the guitars and the pumping drive of Martin Bocks bass, more than ever brought to the essence and combined in a dirty rocking style.

A compact song writing bore refrains youll become addicted to, ingenious vocal parts and several surprises. The lyrics are as expressive as the music BONEHOUSE doesnt betray its reputation of being a combo which prefers clear statements to hazy prattling. Critically they take opposition to e. g. domination (Blast away the Rich), capitalism (Shove that Money Up your Ass), fascism/rascism (Shutem Down, Fascist Pig) or militarism (Disarm Charlton Heston). That doesnt mean that the band isnt able to relax with less serious topics such as the magnificent feeling of letting yourself go in a concert (Onward to Mayhem, My Definition). Ulf Nagel (from Kiel) is responsible for this extremely vivid and powerful production that in spite of its frantic force stays consequently transparent; he already proved his skills on several albums by TURBOSTAAT, SMOKE BLOW, NOISE FOREST, THE CREETINS or KHMER. Two factors influenced the quality of the latest BONEHOUSE record positively: First, Ulf Nagel has known the band from their beginnings and already recorded their first two CDs; second, he worked as producer on Onward to Mayhem for the first time and therefore he already had been familiar with the material before the recording really has started. The result was a sound that stresses all the strenghts of the band and gives a hint to its aggressive live power that already has made hundreds of clubs shake. Like on Steamroller the ingenious cover and booklet illustrations were drawn by Pete (guitar), the credits for the overall design are Frank Dieners, a friendly freak who recently won a prize in an international artwork competition with the KYUSSbestofalbum which he designed cover and title.
