"The most vital, invigorating pop group since the Happy Mondays . a speed-freak violent splurge of the Beastie Boys, dub and the Clash, but with a rasping chainsaw of a tune buzzing away on top." Paul Moody, NME

We originally formed in the late 1980s as The Blaggers - an anti-fascist Oi! / punk band. However, influenced by the rave scene, we began to play a unique mix of dance-influenced punk rock and changed our name to Blaggers ITA.

Over the next few years, we played hundreds of gigs in the UK and Europe and released several albums and singles on various indie labels (including United Colors, which remained at the top of the UK indie charts for several months). By the early 1990's we had become the best-known anti-fascist band on the punk / alternative music scene. We signed to EMI/Parlophone in 1993, with whom we released one album (Bad Karma) and four singles.

The band split in 1995 and our lead singer, Matty, tragically died in 2000.

The band reformed in 2002 as Blaggers AKA to play the occasional gig in the UK and abroad. Some promoters have also been billing us as The Blaggers. Vocals are now shared between rapper Christy and Olaf from the Stage Bottles.
