Blackthorns.for centuries it has been a name linked equally to terror and beauty, fear and love, darkness and the light. Humanity, that cowering mass of blood and bile, has leaned forward and put a hand to its ear, having taken notice of a faint melody arriving on the Westerly wind, calling us home. Not so much a reassuring beckoning. More of a silver-tongued Rapture.Lean back. Steady yourself. The sound grows louder.Call us Blackthorns, for we are many.
-------------------------------
We played our first show on April 2nd, 2005 and our last show on September 8th, 2007. We released our self-titled album on Cinema Revolution Records in June 06, one song on Daybreak's local Don't Fall Asleep compilation in 2007, and a posthumous 7" of our last recordings in April 09. Richard now plays in the Chickadee Mountain Martyrs with Luc from Your Loving Tiger. Christian and I started Poor Weather Club with Matt (Party Central) from Woodcat and I recently joined Helena Thompson's Purest Spiritual Pigs project. Jonathan is in Dark Dark Dark with Marshall (Woodcat), Nona, and others. Jackie is in Brute Heart in addition to Carpscale Orchester, Barebones, and probably others.
