The band have appeared at the Royal Albert Hall "Ignite" series, Sidmouth
Folkweek and are familiar faces at festivals and clubs in their native South
East of England. Blackthorn's songs and tunes represent the interests and
background of each of the much travelled band members. Their distinctive,
fresh melodic sound features strong flute and fiddle melodies, backed by
driving guitar and bouzouki rhythms and contrasted with the sounds of
whistle, concertina and more.
