Immediate Release: Black Market Records has signed two new recording agreements with Spank Lee and Yung Roe. Spank Lee hails from Mobile, Alabama and Young Roe is from Sacramento, CA. The Market is gearing for a return to dominance. The label has named Corey Credit as its new President of rap. Credit, a music business veteran was Vice President of Black Market's A&R during it's glory days. He has been busy signing several new deals with new artists and other labels. The new president bring an energy not seen at the Market for years say a company insider. "He is smart street, he knows the music and the business." Our release schedule for 2010 will be the most aggressive in our 20 year history. Expect another big year from the market.
Black Market Records has also purchased the Miami based label The Sound Of Havana. The Sound of Havana releases many form of Cuban music from Van Van to traditional.
Black Market was founded in 1989, it later evolved into the legendary Black Market Records a year later. An idea the turned into one of the most successful independent record companys in rap music history.
In 1992 he introduced the country to the controversial artist X-Raided with the release of Psycho Active. The release of this album heralded in a new era in underground music. Psycho Active was considered an underground classic and was the beginning of Black Markets domination of the underground west coast scene of rap music. The company went on to release 6 controversial albums by X-Raided despite the artists arrest before the release of his first album.
In 1993 Black Market released the first album from the artist, Brotha Lynch Hung. 24 Deep was the first album to reach the Billboard charts. In 1994 Black Market signed a distribution deal with Priority Records. Brotha Lynch Hung dropped his sophomore album in 1995 entitled Season Of The Siccness. This recording has gone gold selling in excess of 750,000 copies. Critics say it is one of the best underground albums of all times. Black Market put out 7 albums by this artist that have sold over 2 million copies.
In 20 years Black Market Records has released over 70 albums from gospel music, thrash metal, jazz, and rap. They have worked with some of the biggest names in the business like 2Pac, Easy E, Snoop Dogg, Master P, E-40, Daz Dillinger, Game and many more.



Black Market Records has sold 3.6 millions albums as an Indi. Look for new music from Young Roe, Spank Lee, Jacka, Messy Marv, Savior, Cilla Caine, and Lejuan
