Black Arc have been together for less than a year and already they have gigged relentlessly throughout the UK since their formation, and even showcased at Popkomm in Berlin September 2007. Their debut single P.S. and E.P The Coast as Cover were produced by Dan Knowles of Amusement Parks On Fire. The first single P.S. received extensive airplay on Xfm Radio and was Zane Lowe's fresh meat pick of the week on BBC Radio 1 in December 2007 and since then he has had it on rotation. One of Zane Lowe's bands to watch out for in 2008. Martin Bates who has taken over from Ian Camfield on xfm London loves the band and is having the band in the studio for a live session.

In February Black Arc will embark on their first ever headline UK tour to build a platform for the release of their ep The Coast As Cover on 2nd of June……

Black Arc went their separate ways in 2008!

"Really good, winners of last weeks fresh meat, and deservedly so.looking forward to seeing what this band have to offer in 2008."(Zane Lowe)

"LOVED the single and now that I’ve checked out some of their other stuff and I can safely say they are one of the best new British rock bands I've heard in quite a while. No trends, no fashion bullshit, just huge hooks and guitars and loads and loads of passion" (Martin Bate, XFM)"

"Really love what these guys are doing"(Jim Gellatly, XFM)

"It's the kind of experimental rock music that makes an agoraphobic want to go outside and enjoy themselves.

In a time where British music is ever more polarised between jangly indie and Americanised pop punk, it’s fantastic to hear a band that sit so well with the few other fantastic guitar bands we’ve got going on who create intelligent yet highly listenable music. Well done, Black Arc."(Andy Vincent-pennyblackmusic)

"Very honest. The guitarists make the Wah pedals pound, they execute some excellent and epic sounding rifts"(Ryan Jenkins)

“P.S.” is the debut release from Black Arc and is an explosive melange of indie rock with a hugely powerful vocal." (Radio2xS)

“We think Black Arc will definitely strike a chord with you especially if you like something a little more challenging and experimental than the norm." (Planet Loud)

Black Arc - Coast as cover.

"This five track EP massively exceeded my expectations. Rather than tired emo nonsense these five tracks are bursting with passion and great melodies. From ethereal highs to tender and atmospheric lows every moment engages the listener and demands another play. Great British rock with a lot to offer." (Burst Radio)

"There’s a decent crop of innovative UK rock acts around at the moment: Hundred Reasons, Hell is for Heroes, Reuben and indeed Scotland’s own Biffy Clyro. On the evidence of this EP, Black Arc should be added to that list very soon. ‘The Coast as Cover’ is an assured debut. (Gavin Porter - This is music.")

Live Reviews

"Playing jarring, indie-soaked guitar-rock, the band are a revelation to watch! Looking and sounding like the complete article, Black Arc sees the welcome return of some of Britain’s most talented musicians."

Graham Finney(Planet Loud)

"Virtually unclassifiable, their thrashy metal-tinged-post-hardcore-meets-classic-Radiohead sound mixes melancholia and euphoria to create seriously brooding indie."(London Tour Dates Live Review)

"Epic melodic indie rock, Coldplay with a lot more bite"(Organ Magazine - Single Review)

"epic choruses that step forward and take responsibility for the awesomeness"(Shane Love, The Skinnny)

"A red hot cross between classic U2 and Funeral For A Friend"(DUNDEE LIVE - BANDS TO WATCH!!)

"Black Arc produce the sort of soaring epic anthems that would woo a festival crowd on a sunny day yet offer the brooding melancholic rock that is at home under King Tut’s low ceiling."(Martin Campbell, Tbreak)
