Born in the North East of England and residing in Brighton UK, bitbin (aka Matthew Hodson) brings music from the UK's electronic underbelly. "His sound instantly recalls some of the classic Skam output, from the atmospheric chord changes you might expect to hear from Boards Of Canada's bank of synths to Bola's sinewy beats" – Boomkat.
bitbin's involvement within the music industry stretches back 10 years working in the south of England's top recording studios working with a variety of bands and producers. In 2005 he put together the London Synthesis Orchestra and has also composed music for the Olympic games, MTV and Universal. Now with a whole new assortment of unreleased material and an imaginative live set, bitbin will undoubtedly be delivering his new output within the same impressive beat crunching and synthesiser drenched aesthetic.
"It has been a while since I came out of the studio with my own music and having worked with so many different artists as a producer or remixer over the years, I feel that the focus has come round to my own output entirely. I am very excited to be taking my new and old material out into a live capacity and looking at the different ways of doing this. The philosophy of playing live for me is re-working the tracks into another state, on-the-fly, in front of an audience."
His first EP 'Alias EP', which was released via Scotland's innovative Herb Recordings is now available for free download via his Soundcloud and main website.
