He doesnt try to school or teach his audience as the term conscious rap normally implies, he simply shares his experiences and point of views quite objectively.

Exposing his strengths and weaknesses indiscriminately with a disarming lack of hubris, omnipresent in rap nowadays, is what he does flawlessly.



Although he is relatively new on the scene, as a solo artist, this montrealers got about 12 years experience and over a hundred shows under his belt. Formerly a member of the now defunct eight men super crew THE ALLIONS who ruled Montreals Underground hip hop scene in 98 and 99 without ever releasing any music. Their short-lived success was highlighted by key performances in high profile events such as the CREAM festival in 98, SWIRL in 99 and Paramount theatres inauguration in 99. Opening for renowned artist such as, Raekwon, I AM, 112 and DJ Cash Money. After the groups dissolution in the fall of 99 Nova pursued his career as a back vocalist which allowed him to stay active in the hip hop scene while remaining in the shadow, to acquire experience and perfect his craft.



Like many artists before him hes a keen observer of society and human behaviour, an inquisitive mind and a concise analyst hence his alias Rebel! the analyst. So twelve years after he first stroked a microphone and graced the floorboards Billy Nova is finally ready for the world, but the question remains is the world ready for Billy Nova
