Hi my name is Billy Phillips. i am a singer/songwriter from AMAZINGSTOKE!! (aka) BASINGSTOKE!! I have been singing for a few years now and i write all of my own material. I have made myspace so people can get to know me and listen to my music and basically gain some new friends on here. My songs were recorded in Barcelona last year and i have many more new songs now which are in process at the moment. My new single is called come out of your shell which allowed me to have a great opportunity to work with some very good producers, and I am very happy with the final product. I make time for people who show respect for others, and I show respect for people who have a good sense of humour and just simply enjoy life I love to have fun i decided at a young age that i wanted to write some songs. one of which was butterfly, a song which i wrote for my mum which i play a lot around Basingstoke festivals and when i am abroad. in 2005 i went to Barcelona to record some of my songs which was great fun. i learnt the way studios are used and i learnt that recording can not be easy at times. but i enjoyed every second of it. In 2006 i entered English south coast idol which put my song writing skills to the test as i had thousands of other applicants who were also entering. i played my own songs all the way through the competition until i made it to the grand final held at the Portsmouth guild hall. I came 2nd place runner up, which I was extremely happy with Shortly afterwards i was given the great offer of opening for girls allowed, which was amazing and was a great boost for me, and it was a good opportunity to get some exposure. since then to now the end of 2007, i have travelled to over 22 different countries and it has been brilliant, i am very lucky ive got many gigs over the winter and hopefully many more during the summer, i have high hopes for my career but i guess someones got to live the young boys dream of being a pop star. we shall see!
