Always had a love for music. And even had a love for Hip-Hop before i even knew anything about it. Ya know dope drums, a hot loop. Some thing you heard before you knew a DJ could keep catching that funky 30 to 40 second break for as long as he wanted. Kids break dancing the music making them bug out. Ya Know Hip-HOP!!! I first got turned on to the B-Boy part of Hip-Hop in Pine Plains .N.Y of all places. This kid JJ Johnson ask me my first day there showing me my locker. He asked me if i Break Danced. This was like 84 in upstate N.Y . He said at lunch time they got busy in the cafeteria. And that was it I was hooked. Fast forward to about 92 when i met T.C (aka Treach TEE) and the whole Doom Patrol. They got me back in to breaking and the whole element of Hip-Hop. Graff, M.Cing, and DJing. And that's when Paul Nice came in. When he opened me up to djing and beatmaking, and DIGGIN for those rare original samples as well as the already used i knew that's what i wanted to doBe a DJ and make beats. So i started out with one turntable (times were tough). And i just started doing the knowledge, and started putting in the work.Digging that is!!! So when i finally got a set of wheels i just practiced everything , Blending , Scratching, Catching records.just straight up rocking. Then about 95 I meet a Vassar College student named Maji who put me down with his college radio show Soul Kitchen. Then 2 to 3 years later DJ Ease put me down with his radio show saturdays 12pm to 3pm Mid Day Madness as on air production and radio personality. Then forming the Mid Day Mix-Tape. Around the same time I finally got Blessed with my own show. Which I call Diggin In The Crates Radio show. No Connection to but all praise to the Original Digging in the Crates.(the perfect name, cause everybody digs) I wanted to open young cats to where the samples came from in these hip-hop songs.Plus let the older cats see what these new cats are doing with this hip-hop ish.We like to teach people. Plus bring Hip-Hop and music back to when it was love, and had soul.So I've been doing this show for a good minute. And they seem to be getting better every show. So Check it out for your self. Every Sunday from 12pm to 3pm On 91.3 wvkr. Or on-line at WWW.WVKR.ORG

Let me also take some time to tell you alittle about my partner in Beats,Ryhme& Life. No DJ is really complete without his M.C. The Concrete Prophet Chuckie Smash.Ya that's right The Legions own Chung KingBlasting on the scene about 93-94 when Black Sheep (DRES-MR.LONG)did the Hip-Hop Classic Jingle Jangle. As well as other hot tracks Legion Groove,Street Thing, Zootie Bang. After Chuck being a listener for awhile, i asked him if he wanted to be part of my show. After agree we quickly formed like Voltron.

With Smash being part of my team now for the past 5 plus years we've brought the true school of Hip-Hop back to radio. With the lack of good music on radio today on commercial radio . Diggin In The Crates Radio on Independent radio 91.3 wvkr Vassar College.Bring Hip-Hop back to the essence.
