Drummer Bill Goodwin celebrates his 70th Birthday and 50 years in the music business with his 50/70 CELEBRATION TOUR.

Goodwin is a founding member of the PHIL WOODS QUARTET, QUINTET, BIG BAND, and LITTLE BIG BAND. A working musician since 1959, he began his career in Los Angeles with Charles Lloyd, then Bud Shank, Art Pepper, Leroy Vinnegar, and George Shearing. In 1969, Bill joined Gary Burton and relocated to NYC. Bill has long associations with musical giants Mose Allison, Bobby Hutcherson, Tom Harrell, Lew Tabackin, Tom Waits and many others. He has performed at every major jazz festival in the US and Europe, as well as performing in Russia and Japan. An active record producer since 1979, Bill has produced over 200 albums, working for Phil Woods, Dave Frishberg, Tom Harrell, Dizzy Gillespie, Keith Jarrett, and Bob Dorough. His CD re-issue of the 1980 recording "Solar Energy" features John Scofield and Steve Swallow. A three-time GRAMMY winner, Bill has six GRAMMY nominations and won the French Gran Prix du Disc. He will release a new recording with Adam Niewood, Pat Bianchi, and Chris Higgins in 2011. An adjunct professor of music at William Paterson University, Goodwin continues to tour nationally performing and leading workshops.
