Big Dumb Fun Show ® broadcasts live every Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. CST from the BDFS Studio located in the historic Kansas City Icehouse building, on-air from the Heart of America. BDFS is carried live Monday night and then aired in syndication throughout the week on BDFS Affiliates.
Big Dumb Fun Show® (BDFS) began broadcasting during the summer of 2004 from an attic in Merriam, Kansas as a pioneering internet based morning-show-style radio program. Hosted by on-air talent Jeff Hirst aka Venkman and Aaron Gnirk, the BDFS hosts and crew cross generations of the male personality on-air to create a sophomoric explosion of hilarious talk and rock entertainment for almost all ages. The BDFS delivers twelve original segments of big dumb fun entertainment and music for your workday. Each week brings a new round of your favorite BDFS Segments with hosts Venkman and Aaron mischievously leading listeners through the latest news talk, interviews, comics, and indie bands in-studio. Plus BDFS backstage access to unreleased music and acoustic sets all right from the Heart of America. Digital distribution of the BDFS serves a growing list of BDFS Affiliates in the USA and around the world. BDFS is available for licensed broadcast on AM / FM terrestrial radio stations, satellite, cable television, LPFM, Part-15, and select internet radio stations. In 2005, according to The Pitch, 'Conservative estimates indicate that the show attracts around 2.8 million online listeners every week, the majority of whom tune in to repeat broadcasts on weekend nights. Music Industry News Network (MI2N.com) reported on the show saying 'In January of 2005, they took the top spot as the highest syndicated radio show on the net, and carry the largest listenership of any show on the Internet still currently, but that was not good enough. They have taken it to a new level that no webcaster has done before."
