Big Boss Man formed in November 1998, Their sound is a hip Heavy Hammond hybrid of pop, 6T's R'n'B / Latin soul and funk. The Band consists of: Nasser Bouzida a.k.a 'The Bongolian' on Organ and Percussion, Scott Milsom a.k.a. 'The Hawk' on bass, guitar is provided by Trevor Harding and Des on drums. Early 1999 they got themselves a gig at the renowned "Blow Up", then situated at the Wag club London, as usual the club was packed and the crowd absolutely loved the Big Boss Sound. They were then immediately signed up to the clubs very own "Blow up" record label. The first release can be found on V2 Blow Up compilation "Blow Up A Go-Go" with the demo version of the track Humanize, (recorded in the bands very own Ramshackle studios).

2009 May Beat Breakfast (Blow Up Records)

The long awaited new LP/CD/d-download from “Cult” Hammond-Punk/Funk turkeys Big Boss Man, “Beat Breakfast” is released in the UK at the start of August, then in Europe shortly after.

Having finally got over their collective hangover from their mini-tour of Tinkoff Brewery music venues in Russia, the guys set about recording their third disc for Blow Up Records - a breakfast based Hammond-Bongo-Fuzz freak-out.

The whole LP was initially recorded in the band’s own rickety 8-track analogue “Ramshackle Studios” then taken lock, stock and barrel to Nick Terry (Klaxons, Libertines etc) to produce and mix, then finally to John Davis at Metropolis Studios to master – his other clients at the time included U2’s the Edge who apparently “quite liked it” but thought it would benefit from a few more effects.

As usual the band use a load of old weird and unnecessary gear; head honcho Nass (a.k.a the Bongolian) plays mini-VIP, Farfisa and Hammond organs, Wurlitzer piano and moog synths along to a driving bongo and fuzz beat provided by bass man “the Hawk” and guitarist Trev. The band creates a spaced-out selection of prime 60’s inspired dance floor tracks: Northern Soul vibes with “Black Eye”, garage sounds with “the Bloater,” Boogaloo with “Pies and Pastiche” even samba with “Full Brazilian” to highlight a few.

2008 August: BBM appear on a Dutch compilation : "DJ Git Hyper presents music from Raymann is laat!" - music from a "cult" TV show (apparantly).

Big Boss Man are working with producer Nick Terry on their 3rd LP “as yet untitled” set for release in autumn on Blow Up records.

Big Boss Man’s club favourite “the Hawk” is included on “Come On Soul” an international compilation of vintage and contemporary Dance Floor tracks released by the Legre record label in Hamburg.

2006-7 BIG BOSS MAN's 'Party 7' was featured in NIKE WORLD FOOTBALL '06 CAMPAIGN! Nike used the Big Boss Man track 'Party 7' taken from their first album 'Humanize' in the ad entitled 'Henry' featuring Thierry Henry and Eric Cantana. This advert was broadcasted World-wide and sparked a 10 date tour of Germany in March, European festival dates and a mini-tour of Russia.

The Mighty Boosh hit the big time and their film “Sweet” featuring BBM is released by the BBC on DVD.

UK BBC coverage of the World Cup Final features Party 7.

2005 and the band released their 2nd album on Blow Up records entitled "Winner". Radio play in France secured the boys a 12 date tour of the country in the spring. BBM also returned to Spain for 16 date tour in the autumn which included a second national TV appearance on the Spanish television show "Radio 3".

2004 Big Boss Man remixed "the Mod Father " Paul Weller's single "the Bottle." which went straight in to the UK top 20 Two special ltd edition versions (vocal and instrumental) were released It fast became a collectors item.

Their 7" only single "Big Boss Man" was requested for promotional use by Coca-Cola France - access denied! In May the band flew into France to play Cosmic Groove parties in Paris & Montpellier and in July the guys touched down in Italy to play Festival Beat. Head Honcho Nass toured Spain with a live review of his spin off solo album "the Bongolian" and been asked to guest with such luminaries as Woodstock's "(Country Joe &) the Fish " and cult 60's favourites "the Action".

In 2003 the short movie "Sweet" staring BBC's "The Mighty Boosh", received its debut television broadcast in the UK and France. The band provide the sound track and make a guest appearance, It was a cult hit in France - where Big Boss Man headlined nights at the Aucard de Tours festival and Cosmic trip festival. A two week tour of Spain took in headline cult festival slots, club gigs and ended on a high note with a sell out show at Madrid's Sala Caracol venue.

2002 saw the punks of Hammond, Fuzz & Bongo Beat "Big Boss Man" embark on a triumphant tour of continental Europe to promote their debut album "Humanize". The tour included 3 weeks in Spain, 2 weeks in Germany, visits to Moscow, Venice and 2 weeks in France including the le rock dans tousses etats festival in Evreux where the band played to 10,000 people. When the band returned from the tour, they continued to disgrace themselves around England & Scotland and were also asked to rework and remix tracks for Japanese sensation Mansfield for his Golden Hour album and provided a reworking of 60's/70's Euro-cult TV theme Robbi-Tobbi.For Germany's Diggler Records.

2001 The compilation put together by XFM (London radio station) in aid of the Big Issue Foundation features artists such as Belle and Sebastian, The Webb Brothers, Eels, Teenage Fan club and Saint Etienne. Also Look out for the December issue of Later with compilation CD "The later lounge 2", featuring the band's single "Sea groove".

In May "Later" Magazine gave away 100,000 copies of compilation CD “The Later Lounge” kitsch classics from the sixties and seventies. They had the honour of being the only contemporary act featured on the CD with their track "Party 7"; they were along side legends such as James Clarke, Grant Green, Herbie Handcock, Paul Nero, and Hugo Montenegro. November 2000 saw the inclusion of "Xmas BOOGALOO". The Bands contribution to the album "It’s a cool, cool Christmas".

The first single released by the band was "Sea Groove". This was the bands debut release and part of Blow Up's new series of 7"s called 'Blow Up 45's. It has had a good review in SELECT magazine along side Eminem, Coldplay, and Fat Boy Slim. Its said to be an "essential" 45 for the likes of DJs Snowboy, Bob Jones, Gary Crowley, Ross Alan and of course, the Blow Up DJ crew! The release was marked by a show at a Blow Up club event celebrating the opening of the "My Generation" Fashion and Photography Exhibition in Stockholm.

2000 was also notable for the band's appearance in the short comic movie "Sweet". The film starred the comedy duo The Boosh (www.themightyboosh.inuk.com.) They were awarded the Perrier Best Newcomers of Edinburgh Festival 1999, AND they've just been nominated for a Bafta award, (best short film) and "Big Boss Buddha" was playing in the clips of nominees shown at the awards ceremony!!! Big Boss Man provided the whole soundtrack for the film, which went on to win a Turner Classic Film Award at the National Film Institute this year. As well as the soundtrack the band are caught on film in the club scenes and as extras in the bar scenes.
