Beyond the Static

Beyond The Static is a wondrous explosion of sound, settled by evocative

feminine vocals and poetic lyricism. Our five-piece band from Arlington, VA blasts a mixture of rock/emo music.



The beginnings of Beyond The Static were formed when Matthew Demas and Patrick Welsh met in their early years of high school. After chatting a bit, they soon realized that much of their musical tastes and interests were similar. In early 2006 they decided to start putting together a solid lineup. They wanted something unique and different to complete their band. After their best friend Mary Bonney (winner of Paramore's "Last Song You'll Ever Sing" contest in March 2007) joined the band, they knew they had found their sound. She was exactly what they were looking for. Beyond the Static is one of the few "Un-Hollywoodized" bands. Their music is simply their own.
