On Christmas morning, 1995, Jaimee Harris picked up her first guitar . . . and promptly dropped it. Since she was only 5 years old at the time, this transgression was easily forgiven by her father. Besides, the guitar only cost $30.

By the time Jaimee was 8, she had outgrown the toy guitar, and it was therefore replaced on Christmas morning 1998 with a Baby Taylor. Despite the diminutive name, this was a guitar she didnt drop until she was about 13, and she used it to hone her playing and writing skills.

Jaimee's father (Chris) has been a performing musician for over 20 years. A lawyer by day, his passion is and will always be music. From the time he first recorded Jaimee singing backup vocals in 2002, he knew she had something special. It didnt take long before Dad was singing backups for Jaimee.

As the recordings they made in their humble home studio in Waco, Texas circulated among members of the local music community, they began to get requests to play live shows. Finally, in December of 2004, Dad broke down and bought a P.A. and Better Off Dad (Featuring Jaimee Harris) was born. Playing a blend of Acoustic Pop and Folk-Rock, BODs following around Texas is small, but fiercely loyal.

Since December of 2004, B.O.D. has independently recorded and released 3 full length albums (Grateful Dad/2004, Great Expectations/2005, & "Songs To Break Up To"/2007). The recordings impress people, but it is in the live setting in which Jaimees talent truly shines. Compared to the likes of Sheryl Crow and Patty Griffin, Jaimee is a 17 year old singer-songwriter with the heart of a poet and the voice of a mildly irritated angel.
