Benny's passion for music came from an early age when he started playing classical piano taught by his mother who was a professional musician and a piano teacher of several top music schools in Moscow. His introduction to classical music later influenced his passion in electronic dance music production. During his teen years he grew up listening to the sounds of Stockhausen, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode and other electronic music greats that helped him form his unique style. He began his DJ career in the late 90's, spinning at the legendary Tunnel night club where he held residency for three years alongside Danny Tenaglia, BT, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox and other world-class DJ's. Many gigs soon followed at some of NYC's high profile clubs such as Spirit, Avalon, Palladium, Roxy, Limelight, Centro-Fly, and Exit. After spinning for thousands of people every weekend, Benny was inspired to make his own tracks and concentrated his efforts in the studio immersing himself into music production. With a feel for piercing base lines and wicked rhythmic grooves Benny's music production began the same year with a remix of Madam's "Deep Kemical", released on Deeper Records which he produced with Stephane K. The remix received much recognition and proved to be a massive hit in the New York club scene.
Benny's production has evolved through out the years in his continuous quest and passion in music always looking to reinvent his sound. His versatility stands out by the support he receives from top Electronic Dance Music DJ's. His music has received much recognition and support from DJ's including Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Andy Moor, Jerome Isma-Ae, Matt Darey and many others.
He has been continuously releasing his productions on major record labels including: Universal Records, EMI, Starlight Italy, Ultra, Pacha, Curvve Recordings, System. Benny's original productions were remixed by artists such as: Thomas Gold , Chris Ortega, Richard Grey, Dean Coleman, Dankann, Alex Martello just to name a few. With variety of productions and collaboration scheduled for the upcoming year, future is looking very bright for Benny Maze.
