BeerGnomes was formed in 2006 in Carrollton, Texas. Founding members are Glen Haggis, Josh (El Chingon) Medina, Dannette Medina, and Jason (Froshe) Obenhaus. Dannette, who had given the band its name, left the band before they ever played a show and was replaced by Kelly Von Morck. November 25th, 2006 marked BeerGnomes' first annual Turkey Bash, which has since become a highly anticipated event in their hometown. In 2007 they released a four song demo entitled Dead and Kickin'. Just before the release of their first full-length album, Obenhaus left the band for personal reasons. BeerGnomes released their first full-length album, "Give 'em the Green Light" in 2009. Ian Ellis took over drumming duties from December 2009 until August 2010. Froshe returned to his former position in October 2010.
BeerGnomes are known for their stout gang vocals, vigorous guitar solos, fast-paced live shows, and rollicking attitude. Shows are viewed as parties, and treated as such by both band members and fans. The music ranges from more serious songs like "Ballad of a Man Named Roger" (about a man's tattered attempt to find happiness) to the more whimsical "Wally the Wanker" (which recalls the off-color story of a town pervert). By creating a blend of punk, folk, country, ska, and some old fashioned rock 'n' roll these Texas boys will have you dancing, laughing, and wasted before you know it.
