Hailing from Wellington, New Zealand, Beatrootz represents the 'windy city' to the fullest. Phat beats moulded together by label producers Lovak and Tanjaz ensure that this group will sustain themselves in the game. Add the smooth vocals of Dee and you have a group who are standing-by to DROP! ON THE BEAT!



Entering the NZ Top 20 with their debut single 'No DJz', the group have already performed alongside NZ's finest in the game. Initially dropping a track which many thought to be critisizing DJ's, the group says 'the first track was simply misunderstood. Cats in the game thought that we were against DJing and it's art, it wasn't even like that. Listen carefully to the lyrics and you'll find the true meaning of the song.'



Their debut release is a song about how the group began 4 years ago, and was written back then when they had nothing but a guitar to jam along to. They never had a DJ, just a beatbox, a guitar, and their voices! This is the essence of the song.



Fast forward to 2009, finds Beatrooz signed under the DawnRaid Entertainment/Universal umbrella and awaiting the release of their debut album. They have been going from strength to strength polishing stages nationwide and promoting their brand. The new year will see the release of their new material, videos, album and plenty more gigs.
