Jessie Coutts is the soul of the beach sound. Acoustic grooves with big low notes and singing steel guitar.
The album "beach" was produced by Iain McNally and recorded and mixed by L.Stu Young (Prince/Musicology) in New Zealand and Canada.
Vocalist and co-writer Jessie Coutts spent her childhood singing to the winds of New Zealands' rugged Southland coast. Inspired by a family of musicians, she has followed her muse around the world. Her writing style is personal, full of imagery and is carried by her soothing, floating melodies.
Beach are currently recording new tracks with Don Rooke (of The Henrys'). The new sounds are mellow and moody and feature Jessie's laid back vocals as always. Dark meanderings from Don's Kona and floating melodies by Jessie. coming soon.

beach is one of the gems of the beautiful South Pacific. Perfect to de-stress after life catches up with you. Favorites must be the hypnotic "Janey", the sensual moodiness of "Walking Wild", the road trip acoustic cool of "Coolest Light", a quiet tear for " March Angel" and the melancholic optimism of "Nothing". Jessie Coutts' voice sends shivers through my speakers and her sexiness made a fan out of me.
