Biography

Caprice is Dutch soul scene’s pride. He is a soul singer well-known for his sultry sound and sublimely high-pitched voice. The born and raised citizen of Amsterdam takes soul, r&b and funk to a higher level. His charismatic appearance, stage performance and charming personality make him without a doubt the exception to the rule.

New album August/ September 2009

The new album “Equilibrium” is expected to be in stores in August of this year. Caprice has grown musically as well as personally and this sets the tone for his elegant, funky new record. The warm melody lines and infectious songs will revoke the familiar feeling of his honey coated soul - and then some. The new album is notably produced by The Next Movement, a production team consisting of Dutch producers Controverse and Ryan D.

Current affairs

Caprice enriches the music industry not solely with his soulful music. He also is a Dj/ host of “The Soul”, a weekly Dutch radio show on www.lijn5.com, is a popular Master of Ceremony of various dance events and he coaches young music talents. In addition Caprice’s voice can be heard on a number of tracks of befriend national and international artists. Above all, Caprice is momentarily working in the studio to finalize his sophomore album.

The new voice of Soul/R&B

Caprice characterized the French Soul/RnB scene with the delivery of his debut album “Exception to the Rule”, which was released under the record label Quantizers in 2005. The record hit France like a bomb! Caprice gained tremendous popularity: major record sales, sold out live shows and continuous airplay on radio and television. The songs “Insecure” and “Ain’t Ready” became instant hits. Critics have been praising Caprice ever since and named him “The New Voice of Soul/ RnB”.

Live-reputation

Caprice on stage is a must see. Every time he sings his first notes he blows audiences away with his distinctive voice, stage appeal and let alone outstanding, pitch-perfect harmonies playing band. Caprice is always performing. He is asked to play at many eminent events and festivals such as North Sea jazz and is often invited to perform at prestigious award shows. He once had the privilege to sing on stage with Bilal. The American Soul Singer noted to be astounded by Caprice’s sublime style and voice capacity. Caprice’s music touches many souls abroad. He has performed in countries such as France, Germany, the United States, Belgium, Switzerland, Romania and Morocco. Caprice was nominated for “Best Live Act” for the Dutch Urban Awards 2007.

Music Junky

Caprice’s birth name is Yerry Rellum. Ever since he had been a little child he has been a real music junky: always busy with music. He once began his music career as a member of the HipHop formation 2Tuff Enuff. The group rocked many Dutch stages and performed in New York amongst artists as Mary J. Blige and Busta Rhymes at the International HipHop Night of the New Music Seminar. They also went on a mini-tour with American HipHop artists Eric B. and Rakhim. Through the years Caprice worked with many Dutch acts such as the Soul Survivors, Trackaddicts and The Bergit Lewis Gospel Train. Internationally he worked with artists such as Taïro, a popular French dancehall/ reggae artist.

What's Next?



• Caprice’s new album “Equilibrium” is expected to be released in France in August 2009. In September 2009 the album will be released in the Netherlands and other countries.
