Barbatos

BARBATOS emerged in early 1996 as a solo project by an ABIGAIL member, Yasuyuki. That year was spent on writing songs for the band. In January 1997 Yasuyuki recorded a rehearsal demo with a 4 trax MTR but that one was not for sale (only for zines and labels). It contains 3 trax. But the sound quality was poor. In February 1998, Yasuyuki recorded the first officiall demo called '1942'. It contains 4 trax. This release is a kamikaze of hate and destruction. Doomy slow parts, some fast ones, with this special style. There has been a very good response from the people who got the tape. In december 1998, Yasuyuki recorded 2 songs for the split 7"EP with WOLFSBURG. The trax on the 7"EP are 'Defeated general' and 'Survival bleed'. The split 7"EP with WOLFSBURG was released on Silencelike Death Productions (Germany) in March 2000. A limited edition of 500 copies and it got a great response. It's sold out now.



Finally in June 2001 BARBATOS released the 1st CD 'War! speed and power' on ISO666 Releases (Greece). It contains 12 new trax. The response was great. In 2001 BARBATOS played their 1st show at the Drakkar HellFest in France. This show was played by a special line-up : Shaxul and Khaos from Legion of Death Records on drums and guitar, TND of HAWKMOON on bass, Ruben from INFERNAL (Colombia) on guitar, Yasuyuki on vokills and fuck. Then they were back to France for an unforgettable show in October 2001. In May 2002 BARBATOS released the cult 7"EP 'War metal drinkers' on Legion of Death Records (France). It was recorded by the special line-up after the 1st gig. It's a limited edition of 300 copies. It got sold-out on pre-orders. In november 2002 BARBATOS released 'Sexual metal holocaust' split LP with ABIGAIL on Bestial Onslaught Productions (USA). It includes unrleased demo trax. Soon after that BARBATOS released a split 7"EP with AT WAR from Tirade Productions (USA). It features the unreleased track 'Burning soldiers'. Early 2003 BARBATOS released 2nd full album "Rocking metal motherfucker" on From beyond prod(Holland). 2005 BARBATOS released "Fury and fear, Fleash and bone" on Agonia records. It was futuring Cuck keller(ARES KINGDOM, VULPECULA, ex OFC) on guitar and vocals, Joel Grind(TOXIC HOLOCAUST) on vocals. 2006 BARBATOS released 3rd full album "Let's fucking die !" on From beyond records again. In january 2008 finally BARBATOS played first gig in tokyo.



BARBATOS has been described as a band possessing the Metal Punk feeling such as WARFARE, CARNIVORE, MOTORHEAD, TANK, DISCHARGE, GBH, GG ALLIN, BULLDOZER, NME, HELLHAMMER, AT WAR and VENOM.



For recording sessions, close and dedicated friends/musicians from the Japanese extreme metal scene summon around Yasuyuki. BARBATOS' music is always written by Yasuyuki himself, lyrical contributions are done by his many friends from the scene, such as members of DECAYED, BESTIAL MOCKERY, ARES KINGDOM, CELESTIA, FROSTMOON ECLIPSE, Legion of death records.
