Banu Unuvar

Banu Unuvar is a Turkish artist with an unusual background. She started to sing in a Jazz band at Galatasaray Lisesi( High- School, Istanbul). She went to Strasbourg to Louis Pasteur University where she studied Economics and took music lessons when she had money. She loved Jazz, but she didn't imagine to have a music carrier untill she went to Boston. She did an MA in Economics at Boston University while discovering Berklee College of Music.She decided to go to Berklee with the financial help of her brother ARU. While finishing Berklee Banu met Lorenzo Peris, a very talented musician/producer with whom she produced her first record Uzgunum Beyler in 2006 . The record was credited by Arif Mardin ( the late legendary producer of Atlantic Records) as a very well produced quality production. Banu has also a second maxi-single, Kucuk ask katili where she wrote the lyrics and the music , the arrangement is by Erdem Kinay. Her first video is in Motion Graphics and it is produced by Paternika. The video ranked number 6 at MTV EUROPE WORLD CHART EXPRESS for two weeks in 2008.Banu is now launching her new song "LE SCANDALE DOUX PAR BANU" a little clind'oeil to FRANCE and Carla Bruni and her video is directed by Ulas Besoklar .Banu is an independent artist and she is doing all her productions
