The music of the Dutch rooted band Sensuàl contains a catchy blend of jazz, pop and world music. A unique sound of Portuguese vocals mixed with strong grooves and pulsating rhythms. Their energetic concerts make Sensuàl to be an amazing live band. Not only the jazz lovers but also the younger pop audience embrace Sensuàl.

Eva Kieboom (vocals) and her neighbour Emiel van Rijthoven (keys) founded Sensuàl in 2002. The band debuted in 2004 with the cd ‘Acústico’. This cd contained songs played from the traditional Brazilian point of music, with a little touch of Sensuàl. ‘Acústico’ was the opportunity for Sensuàl to introduce its own compositions to a broad audience, which was just a tip of the iceberg of what was yet to come. Their cover of Janis Ians ‘Fly too high’ received a lot of airplay. Due to the success of ‘Acústico’ the band played many festivals (a.o. North Sea Jazz). In 2006/2007 Sensuàl played a theatre tour through Holland with jazz singer Wouter Hamel. In 2008 the second album ‘Salve’ was released. All the songs on this album (apart from one) have been composed by Sensuàl. Some amazing guest-musicians contributed; a.o. guitarist Anton Goudsmit and trumpet-player Eric Vloeimans. ‘Salve’ has been crowned with a prestigious Edison Award. In 2008/2009 Sensuàl played their ‘Salve’ tour across the theatres of Holland. Furthermore they crossed the borders of their home country to tour through Indonesia where they played at the Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta. In March 2009 Sensuàl supported Raul Midon at a sold-out Paradiso, Amsterdam. In 2009/2010 Sensuàl played a succesfull Brazilian Jazz ‘n Grooves’ theatre tour. In September 2010 they played as Dionne Warwicks support-act.The band will release their third album ‘Trinta’ on November the 1st 2010.
