BIO

Formed in the musical hotbed that is Steve Lord's basement, there was only one direction this band was headed, and that was straight into the hearts and minds of music enthusiasts.

Blessed with a melodic cacophony that veers away from the standard, formulaic rock song, they drive straight at you with an unabashed zealousness that makes you want to dance and break things at the same time. In the midst of this tornado is Conan Skyrme, James Tracy, Andy Casey, Steve Lord, and Nicole Boudreau.

When Baker aren't busy playing shows they can usually be found the literal hotbed that is Nicole's basement (decrepit, but cozy) concocting a mad symphony of energy and sonic beauty, much to the delight of their ever-growing fan base.

With the much anticipated debut album Bike Ride unleashed on the public, their wide array of influences and high-energy live performances has both critics and fans alike raving. The buzz surrounding this band at the moment is simply infectious.

DISCS

Bike Ride (2007)

Baker recorded their first full-length album Bike Ride with the highly talented engineer and good buddy, Justin Pizzoferrato (Dinosaur Jr., Apollo Sunshine, Self Righteous Brothers) at Verdant Studios in Athens, VT, Wellspring Sound in Acton, MA and the new Woolly Mammoth Studios in Waltham, MA. It was mixed by Brian McTear (Mazarin, Apollo Sunshine, etc.) at Miner Street Recordings in Philadelphia, PA, and it was mastered by Paul Hammond and Paul Sinclair at Fat City Studios in Blue Bell, PA.

Happy Birthday (2006)

The Happy Birthday EP, featuring early versions of "Reputation", "Gotta Get Out of This City", "Telescopes", and "Plans", was recorded at Verdant Studios in Athens, VT with Justin Pizzoferrato. Justin mixed the songs at Woolly Mammoth, and Nick Zampiello mastered them at New Alliance in Boston, both at the old 1312 Boylston Street location. The band's glad they got a chance to make some music there.

Sadly, Happy Birthday is now out of print.
