Sex Defender, the latest album by Bad Fathers, combines humor, lust, fun and the occasional insight with equal parts - catchy pop, alternative/punk rock, and hip hop. The album is the latest in the band's evolving sonic landscapes, evoking diverse imagery from the dusty American southwest, the rural south, the era of doo wop, hedonistic heavy metal, and the grandness of California lifestyle.
Currently based in Los Angeles, CA, the band consists of vocalists Juan Hooks and Austin Galante, guitarist Kiel Stubblefield, bassist Jeremiah Waylon, and drummer Ryan Turi. Bad Fathers' eccentric, wild performances have scored them recognition as "spazzed out punk rock," from MTV.
Formed by Hooks, Galante, and Jethro Ryon in Iowa City, IA, in late 2002. Their title, Bad Fathers, is inspired by the moment of clarity one has just before accepting the failures of parenting. Their hilarious nightlife antics, crazy drunken adventures and competitiveness have their fans claiming to be "Victims," and their gang is growing rapidly.
