An Explosive High Energy International Groove is the language Bachaco speaks. Since its formation in 2007 the band has managed to successfully blend the Caribbean's most globally loved Reggae, Dancehall and Ska with South America's own Caribbean legacy rhythm of Cumbia. The marriage of these elements is only possible thanks to the band's own diverse range of nationalities: Venezuelan, Jamaican-American, Colombian-Irish and Puerto Rican. Such a melting-pot allows Bachaco's creativity to flow naturally. Songs are written in English and Spanish interchangeably and the sounds take you on a trip deep through your own paradise, right from the dance floor.
Bachaco was founded by Venezuelan brothers Edilberto, lead vocals and Jose Morillo , bass and vocals, along with Domingo Medina on drums, also from Venezuela, Jamaican guitarist and vocalist Matthew Jacquette and Bruce McKinnon, trumpet and vocals, half Colombian half Irish. Puerto Rican Alexander Cruz, on trombone, joined the band later in 2009. To date, Bachaco tours regularly in the United States. The band has also performed in Colombia and Argentina.
"If you haven't caught Bachaco live, you're missing out. Sure, you might be following them on Twitter, or friends with them on Facebook. Or maybe you sit at work jamming to tracks off their Myspace page. But the fact is, very simply, if you aren't catching them live, you are missing out. Because that reggae vibe that makes their music so infectious is most definitely present and accounted for. As is the dub vibe, the dancehall, Colombian cumbia, and hip hop. But there's a whole other element, that certain, as the French say, I don't know what. They have an energy that's irrepressible, their performances spinning into full on jams. If you're an attractive young lady in the audience, you might end up onstage. But wherever you are, you'll be shaking your ass."

"Songs like 'Cumbia pa' la Nena' and 'Jamaican Cumbia' are infectious. They immediately make you want to get up and dance"

"Bachaco gives its audience the world. No Kidding"
- Sun Sentinel
