Reggaetón artist Baby King el Rey de Espada (Auri Martinez) is one of the brightest Latin music stars of the moment in Sweden. This Dominican artist has produced his own music with Nordic Steel Entertainment since year 2006.



Before moving to Sweden he has been a professional dancer in many dance groups in Dominican Republic. He danced four years in a folklore group called Historia Dominicana Dance Group. Baby King is a natural performer and he added acting into his repertoire when he was employed by several big hotels in Dominican Republic.



Dancing has always been a big part of his life and he was also know as “Auri la Salsa” in Dominican Republic. As a hard worker with a great deal of talent he won many salsa competitions. During his years of dancing he found his ambition also for Spanish speaking rapping and began his career as a reggaetón artist.



After moving to Sweden in 2002 Baby King had a short pause in making his music. He shared his passion for dancing by teaching others. In 2005 he decided to rap reggaetón again with another artist, John Po. He had shows in several clubs in Stockholm and many people started listening to his songs.



Baby King opened his My Space site (www.myspace.com/babykinng) and after a little while he got respect also from many other artists who were keen on working with him. He was contacted by DJ Leyton who offered some beats and these two artists began to work together. At the moment Baby King is working with several artists like Susy, Cheluz, Condorloco, Kafit, Javielito and Abby Boy to mention a few.



Latin American radio stations in Sweden, Spain and Dominican Republic started to play Baby King’s music in 2008. During the same year he had many festival performances in Sweden. About a year later SR Metropol Radio took his songs on their play list. The best known songs of Baby King are De Aqui Paya, Luna Loca and El Rey ya Llego. At the moment he is working on his new CD “The Beginning of the King”.



Baby King writes his own music. Positive thinking, happiness and love are characteristics of his lyrics. He believes that people are able to forget their worries by dancing and listening to his music. Baby King has a great respect for Michael Jackson whose music career has been an example for him. He hopes himself to be a positive example for others. He dreams of returning to Dominican Republic where he could not only have shows but also establish his own studio and help young talented people with a dream. He has made his dream to come true. “Thank you God for giving me my family and strength to be warrior in this jungle” says Baby King el Rey de Espada.
