Born in Kingston Jamaica on May 21st, Ava Mae entered the world, destined for music. Her father was the lead singer of a popular R & B / ReggaeFunk band in Jamaican named "Natural Hii" in the early 80's. Ava Mae moved to America at 6 years old and continued developing her songwriting and vocal skills. Ava's inspirations were Culture Club, Mariah Carey, Janis Joplin, Queen, The Bangles, George Michael, The Carpenters, Jimmy Hendrix & Teena Marie. After doing various talent shows in the south Florida area, she scored a job as a back up singer for Arista's recording artist Blu Cantrell. After 2 years of touring, Ava Mae took a break to pursue her own dream of being a solo artist. She Began Working with Zomba Music Producer Mikey Bassie, then later filmed a commercial and recorded a duet with Dancehall heavyweight Bounty Killer. Ava has sang background vocals for Reggae's finest acts like Wayne Wonder, Shaggy, Junior Reid and Inner Circle. Ava's Latest achievement is 2 songs performed with Tafari and produced by Tony Kelly, which are both featured in John Singleton's Latest Film released in September 2007 "Illegal Tender".
