Es difícil hablar de la escena independiente mexicana sin que salga a relucir el nombre de la banda tapatía AURUM; una banda formada en 2004 caracterizada por manejar una pared sónica de potentes guitarras, una excelente voz y melodías que se quedan guardadas en lo profundo de la memoria.



La historia de la banda es sencilla; Tano, Vela, y Kanu se conocen en la secundaria, donde empiezan a crear canciones dentro del "garage" hasta concretar la grabación de tres materiales independientes que poco a poco los llevarían a tocar por toda la república mexicana. Al momento en que la banda empieza a viajar y mostrar su material por el país, sus páginas en Internet comienzan a tener una gran cantidad de visitas; y en poco tiempo el sitio Myspace de la banda se convierte en uno de los más visitados a nivel Latinoamérica, hasta el día de hoy.



El fenómeno de AURUM en Myspace los lleva a firmar su primer contrato discográfico con Westwood Entertaiment en asociación con Sony Music permitiéndoles así grabar su primer disco en forma en los estudios "Sonic Ranch" en Tornillo Texas, bajo la producción de Ettore Grenci. El disco homónimo de la banda sale a la venta en agosto de 2009 y el video del sencillo "Contrareloj" se posiciona rápidamente como uno de los más vistos en la cadena Youtube; además de conseguir una presencia muy importante en los canales de videos más relevantes del país.

It isn't easy to talk about the Mexican Indie rock scene without coming across the name Aurum; a tremendous band formed in 2004 with a mind blowing guitar riff and vocal sound.



The history of the band is simple; rehearse and make up some good tunes and then hit the road and start to make a name for yourself, which is exactly what they did. After recording their first EP, the band started to tour intensely throughout Mexico as an independent band just worried about getting their message and music across the country. After touring with this EP the band's networking sites began to have a great demand and the word was out that there was an independent band touring and giving great shows; the band became one of MySpace's (Mexico) top played artists, and to this date remain that way when in January of 2010 they were named on the top numbers on MySpace by Rolling Stone (Mexico).



After two independent EP's the band signs a record deal with Westwood Entertaiment in association with SONY Music Mexico and release their first LP in 2009 recorded in "Sonic Ranch" studios in Tornillo Texas accompanied with their first video supported single "Contrareloj" .
