Audrey d’Ithaque is a french pop-songwriter based in Strasbourg, she studied piano and some classical music as a child before becoming interested in pop and learning how to moonwalk.

Her first EP “Petite Odyssée”, released in 2004, was compared to a “retro-minimalist Jackson family freakouts”. She did it on her own with a cheap synthesizer and a beatbox software. This spontaneous experience thrilled her a lot and have good audience response in her area.

After making a few gigs in East of France, she started collaborating with jazz and electro musicians and formed a band. From all this artistic encounters sprang “Les 10 versions du Jeu”, EP released in 2008.

With this EP, Audrey d’Ithaque invits us in a warm musical universe where we‘ld dance while cooking (“Cuizin Amoureuse”), or sympathise for a thief-girl (“La Voleuse”). As usual in pop music, love is the main theme, but always in a funny way. On “l’Aveu”, she tells us how resigned she is about a boy, and sounds of broken machine, old camera flash, slammed door punctuate her lyrics and feelings to bring us in brass-band-style beat. The last track of the EP, “Divine”, is a song about celebrating life in which saxophone, vocals and beats mix together to an enthusiastic and oriental-mood finale

Audrey’s music is a mix of groovy beat and immediate melodies. She cites Hip Hop and dance music as influences but it’s more of Björk, Natacha Atlas or Camille that we think when listening to her smooth and emotional voice
