Introducing!.

Driven by dreams of becoming a rapper, Atiim began to perform at the age of 14. But for Atiim, music was the main thing. Influenced by groups like De-La Soul, Atiim became drawn to the East Coast style of music and began to incorporate hip-hop into his style. Expanding his horizons Both musically and politically, Atiim began writing lyrics that Addressed important issues. Now known by his rap name "Boudji", Atiim had become quite comfortable performing on stage. He performed briefly with the group "The 4th Kind", then assembled with some family members to form "5N'Dime". Atiim's stage name changed once again as he became known as "Black Bomani", which means Black Warrior.

Inspired by the challenge of fusing East and West Coast sound styles, Atiim wrote lyrics, choruses and song concepts for the group. "5N'Dime" performed at showcases in Los Angeles and recorded at Skyline Studios and Pajama Studios in Oakland. However, the group just couldn't seem to release the record they dreamed of. Songs were recorded and re-recorded many times in the pursuit of the perfect demo. Being composed of family members would prove to be 5N'Dime's challenge, as they were riddled with conflict. (5N'Dime's Debut Album)

In 1997 Atiim recorded some spoken word pieces at Rooftop Studios in San Leandro, CA. with the help of 5N'Dime's Kobann, David Jones and Angel Sandoval. You can find some of this work at "Spoken Wordz". And by 2001 D-Jones and Atiim decided to produce and release their music Independently. The pair founded Ridah Ridah Records & Publishing and began work on Atiim's first album. Entitled "In Pursuit of Happiness", this musical debut displays a peek into Atiim's range of rapping, writing and lyrical skills. Mixed at Skyline Studios and Mastered at Pajama Studios in Oakland, "In Pursuit of Happiness" is a passionate work that's funky, fun and formidable. It was completed in May of 2003 but ran out of funding to go any further.

But let's back up a bit. Since 2004, Atiim has set out to sharpen his stage presence with live music and song. In 2004 he became the lead singer of a Bay Area Funk/Jazz/Hip-Hop/Afro-Cuban band named SHOTWELL 25 (formerly IZUM). They disbanded in 2006. But, In 2005 he assembled a funk, soul, and hip hop band named BOMANI (formerly known as Supa Frendz). BOMANI currently plays some of his older material and some newer tunes that you can only find online on Myspac (www.Myspace.com/BomaniMusik). Atiim iz also a support vocalist in Divasonic, a vibrant fusion of electronic, dance, and down-tempo live music, and in Bekka's Frogland Orchestra, an electronic, funk, and rock band.

On July 22nd, 2007 Atiim finally released his debut album titled "In Pursuit of Happiness" online, and plans to release his complete catalogue of music late 2009, the tunes that both he and David Jones produced and recorded together. By early 2010, he will release BOMANI's debut album titled "The Scenic Route". So, keep your eyes and ears focused, because Atiim Chenzira hasn't finished, he's only begun to tap into his passion, music.
