Astral Kingdom was a Melodic Power Metal band from Västerås, Sweden. With three great EP's and over 30 live shows Astral Kingdom was well established on the Swedish metal scene before they split-up in 2008. Astral Kingdom was, around the core of the Fredin brothers and Thor Olsson, active with different line up's from the summer 2003 until the spring 2008. The only activity from the early days was the recording of the song "The Land Far Away" in January 2004 and the first gig at UKM (Ung Kultur Möts, Västerås) in November 2005. It wasn't until Robert Nilsson started singing in the band in February 2006 that Astral Kingdom left the covers behind and started to play seriously though. The first official release "Power Metal through the Universe" was recorded in the summer 2006. The title song from this EP gave Astral Kingdom a spot on the Estonian compilation CD called "Metal". Just six months later Astral Kingdom released the very promising EP "Into the Fire" in the winter 2007. This release got great response and gave Astral Kingdom a chance to play as support to Nocturnal Rites at a gig in Västerås in June 2007. The third and last recording "The Astral Kingdom" was released in October 2007 and was by far the best one they ever made. This EP was represented on Shaded Moon Entertainments compilation CD "Melodic Metal Worldwide, Part I" with the song "Escape Your Fate". When Robert Nilsson left the band, for some unaccountable reason, in 2008 Astral Kingdom lost focus and was put to rest shortly afterwards. The last live show by Astral Kingdom was at the open air festival "Rock For Moc" in Finnåker in September 2008.
