The name Ashcorn has been a Miles' idea when he started to play with Ronnie in 2000 even if with this name appeared some line-ups that as matter of fact were completely different bands. The Ashcorn, indeed, had been a metal punk grunge cover band made of many Miles and Ronnie's friends who came and went in every moment and also a crossover band disappeared after some live seasons along the province of Rovigo. Despite of all these mishaps, Miles and Ronnie continued their relationship and they created the core of actual Ashcorn in 2003 when the female singer Sophitia and Dave at the bass, joined the band together with Nails at the synths who contributed to create the actual sound of the band.
With a complete line-up the Ashcorn started to spread their name within the local underground scene in a more serious and convincing way playing own songs and, like every underground band, playing the more as possible. This moment of the band ended in 2004 with the recording of their first demo album X-Spleen-8 that made them to play in important local rock club such as 'Sottosopra' and 'Zoo Animal Sound'. The record had also good reviews in important national Italian magazines like Metal Hammer and Rock Hard. During this period the guys realized how they could have improved as band and they decided to set new goals to achieve: record a new album and find a deal with a label.
But because of this intentions, inside the line-up appeared some different point of views and the band lost her singer. The period that came after had been a bit confused. The Ashcorn decide to continue with Miles at vocals and with a friend of them, Alessandro Bassani, as second guitar. This line-up recorded a new demo album in 2005 named Brand New Ashes, but Miles wasn't happy to have this double role inside the band and everything went in the right directions when the new vocalist Tommy joined the band in 2006 and Miles returned to be the only guitarist in the band.
With Tommy the Ashcorn could to keep on trying to achieve the goals they set, and for the band it started a period of great creativity. The songs for the new album took place on stage during all the years 2007 playing both in Italy in important live clubs like the Alcatraz in Milan and also outside Italy, in particular Germany, where the band played in some underground festival with a good success. The recording sessions of the new album had place at the NFRS studios in Rovigo with the sound engineer Ugo Bolzoni. Unfortunately few months later, after those sessions, Dave left the band. Dave had been a founding member of the band and a friend in a lot of adventures; for the other guys his leaving has been a little shock. Despite of this fact the Ashcorn decided to continue on their path focusing their thoughts on the many things to do and finally they achieved what they wanted.
They reached a deal with the English label Copro Records and Visions for your instinct has been officially released the 3rd august 2009 becoming the first Ashcorn's official album. During the first part of 2010 the band returned on stage to support the record with Alessandro Bassani again, this time as session bassist. This season of live shows ended with a great gig at the New Age Club in Treviso.
And now we arrive to the recent days. In this second part of the current year, the band is writing new songs but we have to notice some news inside the line-up. The Ashcorn have now a new official bassist, Niccol from Eloa Vadaaht, but at the same time they have lost Nails who decided to be not part anymore of the band in order to continue with other musical projects. For the other guys, however, this fact don't represent a stop of their run, the passion is the same of the early days and the Ashcorn have already a lot of things to do and now is the right moment for a new album. The 2011 it will be a year full of great news.
