NACIONAL - 'Telephone' / 'Yorkshire'

Nacional seem to derive their energy from the early to mid eighties magic of bands like The June Brides or The Wedding Present so therefore stand apart quite brightly from today's crop, and all the better for it with two sides of catchy, emotive indie that grab you instantly. Already being tipped by Vic Galloway, Jim Gellately and 6 Music, by the time you've read this it'll probably be sold out. Another limited 7" from Art Goes Pop.

agp20 POPUP ‘a time and a place' - THE DEBUT ALBUM

IS IT ANY GOOD?

“Sell your teeth and buy this record” UNPEELED

“A refreshing record that comes complete with its own supply of vibrant originality” SUBBA CULTCHA

“Like all songs, each of the thirteen tracks tell a story – but Damian’s delivery and diction really draws the listener in and offers no alternative but to pay attention and virtually become involved in the tale. Glasgow’s own original artrocker / storyteller, Alex Harvey (The Sensational Alex Harvey Band) is probably the last who could pull this off so successfully. (Now, if that doesn’t compel you to check out this album, then your soul is most definitely in chains!)” COLIN JACKSON ARTROCKER/LOUD HORIZON MUSIC

'Kitch Bitch' / 'Watertight'

It is no wonder as to why Isosceles have been tipped to be the ‘next big thing'. Managing to maintain a sound that is both classic and innovative, the band's lively presence is painted for us through their tracks in a way that predicts what can only be an absolute blinder of a performance when live and loud. Kitch Bitch is just one example of this, with its endearing lyrics and entirely juiced ambiance. Guitar mayhem-a-plenty, this track is just the sort of thing you could do with to further brighten a delightful summer's day. Upon closer listening you will notice the lyrics - and here may I point out particularly the mention of the digestive biscuit - totally infused with an air of British charm.
