In the early 1990's Ethan put aside his skateboard and traded up for his first set of decks. After a year of testing the waters and mastering the art of record mixing, Ethan got his first taste of playing live at the 48 hour New Year's party at the legendary club Caffeine. Shortly after that he began playing once a month at Caffeine's bigger "Natural High" parties and it wasn't long before he was a weekly resident with long time partners, Buddy and Felli. As time progressed, so did Ethan's tastes and style of mixing, taking party goers and friends on seemless journeys into the essence of the dance counterculture. Eventually, mixing other people's records didn't completely satisfy his creative energies. He felt a need to express more than what a mixer and turntables could accomplish. Like a virtual caterpillar, Ethan turned his Brooklyn apartment into his cocoon, as he learned the ins and outs of electronic record producing and remixing. The first butterfly to emerge was "Faraway" by The 5 Points Gang on uNYted Recordings. Since that release, he has come to put together numerous tracks and remixes, releasing over 20 records as a solo artist under Army of One, as an ensemble under 3brotherstrong, and as a collaborator under the name, NYCO. In the Spring/Summer of 2003 he was signed to Worship Records and Warbled/Espionage, and is now deep in the studio working on numerous projects, as well as doing A&R and producing for Stupendous Music and his new label Brazen Beats.
