Armored Uprise

Oh, to have come to this.

There was at one time a cultural push for substance in aggressive music.

Militant anthems hung heavy in local clubs and bars, and the youth gathered for a message.

There were no songs for love lost or parental neglect.

No melodies designed to attract the opposite sex--but a real determination to be heard.

The message was simple, in all its variant aspects:

Attack mainstream degradation through a fierce sub-culture.

Few today recognize the nobility of such an endeavor.

Today is about the image.

Songs of death lie stale in their unconvincing fabrication.

Sensationalism is king.

Sex is the only motive.

The kids are left stagnant, perhaps wanting more.

As are we.
