As I have learned playing bass mainly by playing along with my favorite albums in the first years, this is something which I still love to do...

One of my very faves for 2015 so far is Sebastian Studnitzky´s new album "Memento - The Orchestral Experience", and especially the second song, "Egis" , felt like it really wanted to be played, so I decided to give it a shot...

Sebastian Studnitzky is an one of a kind pianist, trumpet player and composer and driving force in the European jazz scene, currently residing in Berlin, Germany.

The "Memento" album, which most recently was decorated with the prestigious German "Echo" award in the category "Jazz", presents some of his compositions with the help of his long time aficionados, double bassist Paul Kleber, drummer Tommy Baldu, percussionist Rhani Krija and the "Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim" - chamber orchestra, conducted by Sebastian Terwinkel.

It was quite a challenge for me to try and do justice to Paul´s amazing feel and taste on this track, and I really enjoyed playing this song very much.

In this video, I am playing my "Hummingbird Armin Alic signature" resonant fretless bass by Ramsay Musical Instruments, through the "Basswitch IQ DI" by Ruppert Musical Instruments, the signal being transmitted via Rheingold Music cables.
