This is the sound of dealing with life in a dead-end town, wanting to get out and take on the world with the ideals of good old fashioned punk rock. This is the sound of raw, passionate, uncompromising and angry music that is not afraid to speak its mind and that is not going to bow down to the laws of censorship. This is music for the rebel, the outcast, the activist and the open minded. This is the sound of Armies Of Anger

In early 2007 two Melksham musicians decided it was time to put the town back on the map, and make people remember the place for something other than murders and the fact that the shamed kiddy-fiddling glam rocker Gary Glitter played his first gig here. This is also the town that spawned the Subhumans, but apart from them this town has had nothing to be proud of. It was time to change that. The debut EP (or probably more like a mini-album) 'Live By Your Own Law' was released in April 2007. Recorded entirely in my front room, this was a record that took the ethos of DIY Punk to new levels. Not only did we record and produce it ourselves but we also released it ourselves via the internet. Word began to spread and people started to take notice, even some of our musical heroes were giving us the thumbs up, and all this gave us the extra kick up the arse we needed to carry on going. In June 2007 Stan Marvel (aka Mr X) joined us and we began work on new material. The result was the 'Maximum Rage On The Minimum Wage' EP (again, probably more of a mini-album) Our songs have always had a political element to them but this was beyond that, this record was more like a full-on assault on the political filth that festers within our country's government and indeed the governments of the world. This was a record which was like a kick in the bollocks of the Bush administration and the cock-sucking puppets of Blair's New Labour. But politics wasn't the only thing we were raging against, the royal family were given a fat slice of our abuse, and so were media giants and censors. Quite simply we were playing songs about stuff that made us angry, and when it came to recording our full length album, this was something that we were keen to continue withThe album took a little bit longer to record than the previous two EPs, but the process of recording it was great fun. This time it wasn't just my songs, Mr X and Mr McEntegart were both coming up with some blinding stuff, and it all fitted together perfectly. This record, like the first two, was recorded in my front room again and everything on it was 100% us. And this was still punk rock, but this time we were throwing in all sorts of different sounds. There was 'Oi-disco', 'anarcho-funk' and even 'West Country dub', and while the musical elements were broader, the lyrical themes were even wider. We had songs about religious lunatics, drug-induced paranoia, manufactured pop and even a song about a dead lady who helps the British media sell newspapers

Again we released this masterpiece via the internet, and our fans old and new agred that this was our finest moment. The one thing we hadn't done yet was play some gigs, since we could never find a fucking drummer, but we wouldn't let this get in our way. A select group of people were lucky enough to witness the now legendary 'house gigs' that we staged. Yeah we used to turn up pissed out of our faces, but it just added to the fun. But with every up, there is always a down.

Armies Of Anger came to an end in June 2008, but being in this band was a lot of fun, we made some great music together and we opened people's eyes. And we didn't need no management, record labels or even producers. We did this all ourselves. In early 2009 Mr Scott and Mr McEntegart formed NO MANIFESTO with ex members of Chaos UK and The Catering Service www.myspace.com/nomanifestoband

Well here it is: 'Milking A Dead Memory'. open up your eyes and ears

and don't listen if you can't handle the truth. Some of the Armies Of

Anger tracks not featured on M.A.D.M were written nearly six years ago

at the time of writing this, and over the years much stuff has pissed

us off, socially, politically, morally, musically and personally. And if I didn't

write songs about it I don't know how my mind would make sense of it.

This album is a collection of the best stuff we recorded during 2007

and 2008 at my house in Melksham, Wiltshire. All self written,

self-recorded, self-produced and even self released by us, using a

budget of absolutely fuck-all money, the most basic recording methods,

and no outside help whatsoever. All of which makes us even more proud

that we've done it ALL ourselves. Enjoy this collection of songs and

remember anything is possible if you do it yourself

Ta for listening
