Jefferson Allan who is more commonly recognised as D.O.C, has been producing music for 21 years. His first musical venture in the late 1980’s was with two friends Justin & Tosh, collectively working under the name of Studio2. They successfully released their first single ‘Autoload’ & it quickly went on to become a dance floor hit. The trio later signed to Ibiza Records, where they soon embraced the ins/outs & technicalities of the music industry.

After leaving Ibiza Records, Studio2 decided to go it alone & released hits such as ‘Dirty Games’, ‘Who Jah Bless’ & ‘Call The Cops’; tracks that were on heavy rotation & supported by the likes of DJ Top Buzz, Brookie, Kenny Ken & Groove Rider…to name a few. Unfortunately with no financial backing, Studio2 decided to take time out of music & experience a variety of different jobs. D.O.C however, was always musically involved one way or another.

At this point, the Garage music scene was just beginning to become popular so the trio decided to go at it again under the new name of ‘Ant’ll Mob’. After releasing a few white labels, the group was signed by Confetti Records & produced ‘Burnin’, their most successful track to date; along with a host of other dance floor hits like ‘U Should Have Known’, which was remixed none other than Todd Edwards.

After a few years with Confetti Records, the trio decided to go their separate ways & pursue different avenues.

Shortly thereafter, Area52 Recordings was born.

The brain child of D.O.C, Area52 Recordings was a environment where up & coming artists could come & make music, record vocals & express themselves. D.O.C soon recognised the talent that was passing through his doors & decided to expand Area52 Recordings into a label, thus giving new artists a direct outlet for their music. With working alongside some of the UK’s top artists, Area52 Recordings begun to grow.

And so did D.O.C…

D.O.C contributed his skills & was Production Co-Ordinator for the Black History Project in 2002. He also produced sounds bites & jingles for popular Cable channel Trouble TV, & has been involved with the Met Police project ‘Trident’.

To date, D.O.C is working with a plethora of artists from around the world including France, America, Jamaica & of course, England.

D.O.C continues to work with ‘the greats’, including recording a single with Frankie ‘Dancehall’ Paul for the legendary King Jammy. He also recorded Robert Lee & Lecturer & worked with Digga aka Mclean.

A handful of D.O.C influences include James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Dr Dre, Michael Jackson, Teddy Riley & Mothership …to name a few.

D.O.C’s vision is to produce number one hits for number one artists & develop Area52 Recordings into a worldwide recognised label.
