GREEK THEATRE:

The William Randolph Hearst Greek Theatre is located on the UC Berkeley Campus in the foothills overlooking the San Francisco Bay and with spectacular views of The Campanile, The Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, Mount Tampalpais and San Francisco. Throughout its 100 year+ history, it has hosted a variety of entertainment and famous personalities including Theodore Roosevelt, Sarah Bernhard, Luciano Pavarotti, and the 14th Dalai Lama. Popular music artists have included Bob Dylan, The Talking Heads, The Grateful Dead, Phish, Elvis Costello, Daft Punk, R.E.M., Pearl Jam, Joan Baez, Van Morrison, The Gipsy Kings, Paul Simmon, James Taylor, Dave Matthews Band to name a few. For many artists, The Greek Theatre is their favorite place to perform. Equally, as one visiting patron points out "The Greek in Berkeley is one of those venues you wish were in every city!" The Greek Theatre is one of those extraordinary venues that make any event or concert a truly remarkable experience for both the artist and the audience — one not to be missed!

Another Planet, which has been the exclusive promoter for this venue since 2004, continues to set the standard for environmentally responsible concert production through its efforts at The Greek Theatre. In 2006 The Greek Theatre was the first major music venue to fully implement an environmental program during an entire concert season. In 2007, APE again made history at The Greek by becoming the first major music venue to implement a venue-wide composting program, with all food scraps, cups, plates, utensils and napkins were collected and sent away to be composted and also introduced the "Green Team" to help educate concert attendees as to what is recyclable and compostable.

FOX THEATER:

After closing its doors forty-three years ago, the Fox Theater reopen in February 2009 with a run of performances from entertainment's top acts. The $75mm multi-use renovation project will feature a state-of-the-art theater with flexible capacity from 1,500 to 2,800. The theater's wrap around building will be the permanent home for the Oakland School for the Arts, a tuition-free charter school dedicated to artistic and academic excellence.

THE INDEPENDENT:

Over 5 Years and 1200+ shows later!

628 Divisadero has been showcasing live music in San Francisco for over 30 years. The Half Note, Vis Club, Kennel Club and Justice League have all shared the same address. The Independent is the latest incarnation of one of the city’s most diverse live rooms. Since its inception in February 2004, many of today’s best known and emerging artists have graced The Independent’s stage. A sampling of those include Black Eyed Peas, Phil Lesh & Friends, MGMT, Mos Def, Ben Harper, Bon Iver, Girl Talk, Tegan & Sara, TV on the Radio, Fleet Foxes, Toots & the Maytals.

The Independent is proud to be part of the burgeoning growth and improvement of the NOPA district around Divisadero, now home to some of the best restaurants and shops in San Francisco. With a continuous schedule of new and diverse performers on stage, The Independent plays a vital role in San Francisco’s storied live music past, present and future.

STAR WARS: IN CONCERT:

Star Wars: In Concert is a unique multi-media event featuring music from all six of John Williams’ epic Star Wars scores that began its worldwide arena tour on October 1, 2009.

Narrated live by Anthony Daniels (the actor who portrayed C-3PO in all six films), the production features a full symphony orchestra and choir, accompanied by specially edited footage from the films displayed on a three-story-tall, high-definition LED super-screen – one of the largest ever put on tour. The live music and film elements are synchronized in order to create a full multi-media, one-of-kind Star Wars experience.

“We’ve taken the key themes from the music and cut together all the images that fit with each theme, so you can really get a sense of how the music played into the images,” said George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars Saga. “The whole soundtrack is a testament to John Williams’ creativity and his extraordinary ability to enhance the emotional aspects of the films.”

OUTSIDE LANDS MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL:

In 2008 Another Planet partnered with Bonnaroo promoter Superfly Presents for Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival which drew 130,000 music lovers in its first year to Golden Gate Park over the course of three days, during which 65 artists performed on six stages in the western end of the 1,017-acre park. Radiohead, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Jack Johnson, Wilco and Manu Chao were just a sampling of the impressive and diverse lineup of artists that also featured 25 of the best local Bay Area acts. In it’s second year, Outside Lands returned with Pearl Jam, Thievery Corporation, Dave Matthews Band, Black Eyed Peas, M.I.A, Tom Jones, and Jason Mraz to name a few.

Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival was also a triumph from an environmental standpoint, being one of the most eco-friendly large-scale music festivals in the country. A high standard of greening initiatives were set in place, including a fully-powered solar stage and eco-village, a bike valet, recycling store, cell phone recycling bins, biodiesel generators, the option to 'green' your ticket and all food and drink items for sale at concession stands were either recyclable or compostable.

Another Planet hopes to make Outside Lands an annual tradition, helping to bring the best in music, arts, food and culture to the Bay Area community. The Contra Costa Times noted, "Outside Lands must still be considered a ringing success. Organizers managed to pull off what is arguably the biggest and most ambitious ticketed concert in Northern California history. Indeed, the Bay Area now has a festival that can stand up proudly to such mammoth music events as Southern California's Coachella or Tennessee's Bonnaroo."

TREASURE ISLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL:

For the past 3 years, Another Planet and Noise Pop have successfully produced Treasure Island Music Festival, a memorable and diverse event in one of the most distinctive settings around - smack dab in the middle of the San Francisco Bay, on Treasure Island. The two-day celebration consists of the best in electronic/dance and indie rock music and is the first music-based event of this scale and scope to be held on the man-made island, beneath the magnificent skyline of San Francisco.

'The Festival in the Bay' is uniquely set up so that each performance is staggered over one of two stages, allowing music fans the option to catch every note of every band on-stage. Past lineups include a wide range of acts such as Justice, The Raconteurs, Spoon, Tegan and Sara, Modest Mouse, TV on the Radio, Thievery Corporation, MIA and Built to Spill, Flaming Lips, Girl Talk, Yo La Tengo, MGMT and focuses on bringing both internationally known and local acts to the island.

Treasure Island Music Festival also plays host to a variety of environmentally-friendly features, including a solar powered stage, a fleet of zero-emission shuttle buses transporting the audience from AT&T Park to Treasure Island, biodiesel generators, a recycling store, bike valet, extensive recycling and composting including biodegradable cups and utensils, organic festival merchandise and all of the festival's printed materials were on recycled paper using soy-based inks whenever possible.

Whether riding the festival's 60-foot Ferris wheel, admiring the local art and vendors or taking in your favorite new band on stage, Treasure Island offers something for everyone. SF Weekly stated, "Two years in, Treasure Island has become a genuinely special event for both sides of the bay."

In 2006, Another Planet presented the Northern California debut of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition featuring more than 300 authentic artifacts from the luxury liner at the Metreon in San Francisco. This blockbuster exhibit resided on the 4th floor of the Metreon for an eight month run. In 2007, Another Planet in conjunction with Bay Area Productions produced the highly successful national tour for Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx.
