EIGHTY est un nouveau projet musical de pop acoustique. EIGHTY, c'est avant tout la chanteuse italienne Ornella Pellegrino, 27 ans. Elle joue également du piano et de la guitare. Sur ce projet, elle travaille avec le compositeur/pianiste et producteur Umberto Sangiovanni. Celui-ci est actif sur la scène italienne depuis une vingtaine d'années en tant que pianiste et compositeur de jazz. EIGHTY a obtenu durant l'été 2010 un grand succès en Italie avec sa reprise de Lou Reed, « Walk on the wild side ». La vidéo a été vue par plus de 90.000 internautes sur YouTube et est encore considérée comme une des vidéos les plus originale et intéressante sur la toile. L'album de EIGHTY, intitulé actuellement "Roma", sortira en 2013 sur Anorak Supersport/Pias. Un album de 10 titres. Un album de chansons pop très actuel. Un album charmant, frais, léger et tout en douceur.

EIGHTY, nome d'arte di Ornella Pellegrino, nasce da una idea di Umberto Sangiovanni, pianista e compositore di estrazione jazz.
Sangiovanni dal 2009 è il suo produttore e lavora alla scrittura dei brani per questa giovane vocalist. Il suono delle canzoni è fresco e immediato, vicino alla musica acustica, molto adatto al mercato internazionale.
Nell'estate del 2010 Eighty spopola sul web con un video divertente e dissacrante. Il video è la cover di Walk On The Wild Side di Lou Reed; il pezzo funziona, i network lo passano in rotazione; il video raggiunge 60000 visualizzazioni in sole 2 settimane. Nel novembre 2011 Eighty firma con l'etichetta belga ANORAKSUPERSPORT che si occupa della promozione e della distribuzione, in Belgio e Francia, del primo album di Eighty la cui uscita è prevista per l'anno del 2013. Un brano dell'album viene scelto per essere cantato in italiano; Melissa P. firma il testo riadattato nella versione italiana.
