After Nothings End have released 3 records in the last 7 years. After Nothings End takes influences from Rock, Goth, Industrial, Metal and Punk. Joshua wrote a story and divided it into a 3 album concept. He says the concept started from the idea of "One day you wake up and realize your life is a lie". The albums would be spaced out over a 10 year span.
A dark and lonely road was released on January 1st 2004 and was recorded, preformed and produced by Joshua AnE. Quinton Gardner mixed and engineered the record, he also sang back up vocals. The only other contributors on the record were Jon Zemek, and Adam Woodruff. Jon played lead guitar on two tracks and Adam played bass on one track. The record was written between 2001 and 2003 and featured programed drums and was heavy on synths. Taking influences from such bands as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode.
The next 2 years were spent recruiting live band members but a permanent lineup never materialize. Quinton Gardner on bass and Jon Zemek on guitar were the main members during this time period.
Beyond the broken path was released on January 1st 2009 and was produced, mixed and mastered by Joshua AnE. Nicholas Shivka, who joined the band in 2006 played guitar on 7 of the 13 tracks. Jacob Deis contributed bass on two tracks and drums on one track. This record was written between 2006 and 2008 and the band's sound changed with it. Live drums was the biggest difference from the previous record as was the lack of synths. The main influences on this record came from such bands as Joy Division, Marilyn Manson, Cradle of filth and 90's grunge.
From 2006 till 2009 the band toured the East coast with Nicholas Shivka on guitar, Asa Morris on bass and Steven Scotch on drums. In 2007 Asa and Steven left the band to pursue their own projects. In 2008 Dj Hodgdon took over bass duties and they had a slew of drummers.
By 2009, Joshua had grown tired of New York and was looking to move the band to the West coast. He decided to move to Portland Oregon, where Quinton Gardner had moved a few years before. By the summer of 2009 Joshua began recruiting a new line up. Lucas Miller joined the band in December 2009 on drums. Tom Torresdal joined on guitar in August 2010 and Raina Shadbolt on bass. This line up played shows all over Portland until February 2011 when Tom and Raina left the band.
Joshua AnE is currently recording a new album that is scheduled to be released January 1st 2012. This record will be part one to the other two records and is titled "The Darkness Inside." As of May 2011, Joshua AnE and Lucas Miller have talked about reforming a live band and may peruse new members.
