The Wedge

Andy Lloyd signed to Hansa / Ariola records in 1977 as a solo artist. He released two records 'Back To School'/'It's Up To You' in 1978 and 'Living In America'/'Letters To Eva' in 1979. He Joined forces with the wedge to in 1979 to promote his music live .Previous to this 'The wedge' were playing 60's covers around the clubs in Birmingham. Together 'Andy Lloyd and The Wedge' became a firm live favorite on the English college circit. The band also gained a large Mod following who numbering hundreds in stength would turn up at the gigs. the band were tipped at the time to be the next big Birmingham band but this was not to be due to comunication problems with the record label.Andy Lloyd along with Paul Faulkner went on to form 'The Bloomsbury Set' after the band disbanded in 1980.
