". a lot of power and strength. I hope they will find the right partner to help them making ANCIENT MAN big! Watch out!" - Daredevil Records, Germany

". was absolutely blown away by how tight and proficient they were. Their style was very stoner rock, Queens of the Stone Age fans eat your heart out! One of the guitarists kept making lots of jokes about how Anton (bass player) likes it up the arse. I got the feeling that he had never made it past the genitalia jokes of his childhood." - thedwarf.com.au

"This is a short account of the music I have heard so far from Melbourne's Ancient Man, alas their debut EP is out of production, but they plan on releasing new material soon.

Ancient Man are a modern sounding band that also pay homage to classic rock greats. A lot of their songs contain big rolling riffs that would sound in place on a Led Zep record, but they also use some of the pop sensibilities of QOTSA, this combination makes for an original sound that they are forging away with.

Their songs always have the power to surprise, you can never be sure what's around the corner, a multi-part vocal melody passage is just as likely to be suddenly punctuated with some stabbing proggy razor-sharp riffs as it is veer into jazzier realms of smoothly crooned lounge-rock. The vocals often counterpoint the music with their strange timings, helping to build another layer of rhythmic quality into the music. They often display a style of riffing that is powerful but restrained, the controlled power is always bubbling away under the surface. Knowing that it is likely to burst out at any time makes for exciting music.

All this makes for addictive music that always triggers that one-more-play feeling, in another attempt to cram all that music into your head to see if theres anything you may have missed the last time around". - NZ STONERDOOM REVIEW by Rich
