Anahita's Song for Persia - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 08, 2009
DESCRIPTION:
This is a collaborate effort by a young poet in Iran and an American performer. Photos of Iran were taken in April 2009, just prior to the atrocities that have been on going since the election held in June. Since that time dozens have been hung from cranes, hundreds tortured, and protesters placed on trial in kangaroo courts, while hundreds more remain in prisons. The photos are indicative of the peaceful nature of the people of Iran and the flourishing society that they strive towards. Their call is for equal rights, human rights, and dignity. They cry for an end to the dictatorship and the Islamic Republic. Please support them in spirit and in truth.

The lyrics are simple, the sound moving. No photos showing faces of individuals have been used in this video for safety purposes. No photos of protesters have been utilized ... it is a video of respite from the horrors and one to set the spirit to a few moments escape and that ambition which drives the people -- AZADI!.
