On September 30, 1985, Amie Dibba was born to Gambian parents in Texas but has lived in Minnesota since the age of two. Amie started singing at the age of 6. She sang in a choir for 7 years. For four years she was a member of a singing group, in 2002 they opened for National Recording group, Jagged Edge.

“My first love was music. My goal is to become an international recording artist. I try to teach myself how to produce and arrange music. I focus strongly on writing meaningful as well as catchy lyrics that draw the attention of the listeners and connect with them and their experiences. I know that with much practice and motivation my skills will become much better,” said Amie. In 2006, Amie emerged as the first ever MISS GAMBIA USA in May of 2006. During her visit over the summer of '06 to the Gambia, she performed alongside Singateh A.K.A Freaky Joe, opened up a show for Senegalese female star Viviane N’dour as well as Senegalese male stars Aleiu Mbye Nderr, Pape Diouf and Fallou Dieng whom she also did a duo with that night, one of Sierra Leonian stars Emmerson, and has been featured on GRTS Goudi Samdi hosted by Ansumana Drammeh, the Daily Observer news paper, www.onegambia.com, gambiantalents.com, UKgambians.com. Her music is currently being played by DJ Edu on BBC radio, Unique FM, Paradise FM and also by the likes of many dj's across the globe.

Spending some time with the African Broadcasting Network-America as the Director of Music, Master Control Operator, and host of her own show Melody Africa, she was assigned to cover the African Union Summit in 2006 and also interviewed about 17 local talents.

In 2007, Amie was a performer at the Miss Africa USA 2007 Pageant that was later televised by the international channel, Telesud, She was also featured in a two-page spread of the October 2007 issue of "The Voice" magazine based in Netherlands.

In 2008, she earned her Bachelors Degree of Science in Liberal Arts from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where she majored in Marketing Communications with a minor in Mass Communications. Amie also volunteers as Program Coordinator for the Gambian Association in Minnesota.

“Music is a huge part of my life and my dream and I am determined to succeed in it with God's guidance, the support and prayers of my people and endless dedication on my part. I never expect things to be handed to me in life, work for what’s yours. I truly am working for my love of music and I will enhance my skills and develop myself as an artist in all ways possible. I pray to God that I may be granted the opportunity to better enhance and develop my skills, I promise when that happens, it will never be regretted.

This proud Gambian queen has a voice that is both unique and beautiful.

With much of her music in the r&b genre, she is open to try new things.

Amie’s love for the Gambia cannot be overemphasized as she lives her complete life “the Gambian way”. “I love Gambia, I love the people, I love its beauty, it’s always home, NO MATTER WHAT, GAMBIA STAND UP!” expressed Amie.

With a strong following in the Senegambian and a buzz in the African community internationally, Amie is a force to be reckoned with.
