Amanda Cunningham- BIO 2008



An Okie from southwest Oklahoma, Amanda started playing music while attending OSU in Stillwater. After graduating with a B.A. in Marketing she made her first cd at Cimarron Sound Lab in Tahlequah, Oklahoma just 6 mos after learning guitar and writing her first songs.

While living and playing music in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Amanda won the Woody Award for “Best Singer/Songwriter” from the Oklahoma City Gazette in 2002 and was named Female Vocalist of the year in 2003 at the Red Dirt Music awards in Tulsa.

Amanda took the leap to Austin, Texas in Febuary of 2003 and has been playing consistently in the Austin and Hill County Area for the past five years. Shortly after moving to Austin, Amanda partnered with Screen Door Music to produce and record her 2nd cd titled EP “05.

For those of you who enjoy name dropping, Amanda has performed with many talented musicians including: Butch Hancock, Jimmy Lafave, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Bob Childers, the Red Dirt Rangers, Stoney Larue, Trisha Yearwood, Tracy Lawrence, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Charlie Robison, and many more.
