Alphabet Soup

The Alphabet Soup east Project is the continuation of one of live hip-hop's most durable and long lasting organizations.

Started in 1991 in San Francisco, Alphabet Soup became the city's iconic original hip-hop/jazz group comparable to Philadelphia's Roots crew

and the Freestyle Fellowship of L.A. Alphabet Soup broke barriers in the 90's as the first hip-hop group at the Monterey Jazz Festival and other

festivals that previously featured strictly jazz acts. Alphabet Soup's musicians have forged strong individual careers, working with members

of the Grateful Dead, Charlie Hunter, Les Claypool and many others. The core 3 original members of Alphabet Soup - Dred, Kenny and CB, have

all relocated to the NYC area and thus a new chapter has begun with Alphabet Soup east.
