BIO
GLOVES the 'Aussie Disco Prince', better known to some of us as Yama Indra, holds a list of dance-til-you-drop-dead accolades that make every "been-there-done-that" globe-trotting journo with a chip on their shoulder envious.

As one half of the now defunct Melbourne yacht house & indie-disco darlings Damn Arms, he toured with the likes of The Kills, Cut Copy, Klaxons and The Presets playing over 180 shows in 7 countries and still had time to release the seminal Aussie-touch nu-disco anthem 'Destination' which was championed by tastemakers wordwide including French king-pin Alan Braxe (he asked to release it on his label Vulture Music). Alas, their partnership came unstuck after an incident involving 18 litres of rave juice.

The ravejuice was served and consumed at the now legendary Melbourne institution 3rd Class where GLOVES held down a residency for two years (until it imploded) whilst also producing music for labels such as Bang Gang 12" and Modular. Something must have mixed right because the man was also hand-picked to play as part on the catwalk of Marc Jacobs' 2010 collections. As well as being a firm favourite on the festival circuit, GLOVES has DJ'd in clubs alongside almost everyone, from bands such as The Gossip, Midnight Juggernauts, M83 and Cut Copy to DJs like Aeroplane, Danger and Bag Raiders to name but a few.
In the past two years GLOVES has lent his deft remixing skills to everyone that dared stand near him… basically if you got too close he would remix you on the spot. He once remixed my personality at 5am inside the halls of Sorry Grandma (another Melbourne nightclub – yes I do enjoy nightclubs) and I have passed it off as the original character ever since. The list of others to receive the remix treatment include Bag Raiders, Golden Bug, Cut Copy, JET, Van She and Operator Please.

Between his prolific remixes & overplayed originals of the last two years, his work has featured on some of the biggest compilations worldwide, including three Ministry Of Sound releases, the last two Bang Gang comps, the latest installment from Germany's 'Disco Boys', One Love's Mobile Disco & Hed Kandi's 'Nu Disco'.

In late 2010 GLOVES' studio finesse was recognised by acclaimed record producer Scott Horscroft (JET, The Presets, Temper Trap, Silverchair) who promptly enlisted GLOVES to shape the future of Australian music, working under his studio and management at the production helm of a string of records in 2011.

I can only advise that you keep your ears to the subs, your legs on the dance-floor and your eyes to the highest slopes and you may see a man riding a bike, balancing an espresso on his head and a synth on his nose travelling at the speed of disco-light.
